The highlighted race of the evening was the 13 car, 22 lap, $600-to-win WISSOTA Mod Four special. Bryce Bjerken and Jim Erdmann led the field to the green flag. Bjerken powered by Erdmann on the opening lap while Luke Johnson followed behind closely in third. On lap seven, defending NCR track champion Rob VanMil maneuvered around Erdmann for the second position. VanMil, in his first race of the season in a Mod Four at NCR, set his sights on Bjerken and had 15 laps to erase the two second gap between him and the leader. Four laps later, however, Bjerken had extended his race lead to nearly three seconds over the Corey’s Car Care #4D of VanMil. As the laps wound down, VanMil closed in on Bjerken’s lead, but could only cut it back down to two seconds as the checkers flew. The win was Bjerken’s second career victory at NCR, VanMil came home in second, Shayne Laske made a rare appearance to NCR and brought his #30 across the line in third. Jim Erdmann and Luke Johnson rounded out the top five.
The youngster Gannon Miller and the veteran Rich Pavlicek led the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds to the green flag for the 16 lap main event. Miller jumped to the point at the get go and led Pavlicek and Davey Mills. Miller held the lead until lap seven where Pavlicek passed the Cummings, ND driver for the top spot. Miller fell victim to Mills on lap nine and fell back to the third position. Mills tried to track down the Hagge’s Bar & Grill #17, but Pavlicek proved to have the best car as he took the checkered flag. Mills finished second while Rob VanMil, Jason Strand, and Gannon Miller rounded out the top five. Pavlicek celebrated his second career NCR win by performing his signature big, smoky burnout on the front straightaway to the fans enjoyment.
Jim Geringer led the first lap of the WISSOTA Street Stock feature over Adam Burrows. Burrows trailed Geringer until lap five where he was able to pull along the inside of Geringer. The two drivers battle side-by-side for a full circuit and resulted in Burrows taking over the lead. In the closing laps, Burrows had his hands full as he had to hold off a hard charging James Tandeski. Tandeski threw everything he had at Burrows, but came up three-tenths of a second shy at the finish line. Travis Robertson, Ryan Pommerer, Jim Geringer, and Kyle Dykhoff rounded out the field of strong drivers.
The 18 car, 20 lap WISSOTA Modified feature was led to the green by Dustin Wahl of Greenbush, MN. Wahl led the first lap before the winningest Modified driver at NCR, Blake Jegtvig, took the lead from the third starting spot on lap two. Jegtvig checked out from the field and led the remaining 18 circuits around the 3/8th mile track. The final margin of victory for “The Jet” was a staggering 5.2 seconds over Justin Jones as he picked up NCR win number 24. Bryce Borgen finished in third behind Jones by about 10 inches, Brent Pulskamp and Josh Beaulieu rounded out the top five.
Kelly Jacobson won his second feature of the season over Dean Lundon and Kristen Nelson in the 12 car Pure Stock main. Katie Ahrndt found KRJB/KRJM Victory Lane in the IMCA Sport Compacts.
